What are their typical features? Are they like the bar visitor in Pattaya thinks they must be, having been told by most of them they'd come from Korat - and make him end up in the depth of Buriram etc. when visiting her family for the first time?

We have many girls from Korat in Pattaya, here we tend to dress them up nice, although not in the sense of nice and take them to meet your mum, more in the sense of keeping them in a bedroom type dressing up

Here's a picture that was published today in the Swiss newspaper "Basler Zeitung" to an article about the fight against child-sex tourism. Some travel agencies threw out hotels in Pattaya from their packages because they were offering minors to their customers.

JF, did you take the parade pictures yourself? I think Korat being situated where it is, that you tend to find a mix of the Bankokian, Isaan, and even Chinese features.

I don't know about you guys, but I've never met a Thai girl who has refused money. On the contrary, they pretty much welcome it. More often than not, there really isn't that much difference between a whore and a girlfriend. Sooner or later, you will end up compensating her in one way or another. Requests such as: "The buffalo died and we need a new one, I need a new mobile phone, Can you buy me that gold necklace, Grandma is sick and I need to pay her hospital bill. I cannot pay my rent this month," are all quite common in Thailand. These girls must certainly be happy because they don't seem to be complaining about it.

DD, have you been to The Mall here in Korat? I should have listed it as part of the red light zone. Come to think of it, I think all of Thailand is in the red light zone.

Last weekend I had a great party at my home with about 40-50 o\ people ..student friends of my daughter,
loads of thai-farang couples with beautiful kids (inc members here) and older thai farang couples and let me tell you we had one hell of a party. Korat can be quite normal and funloving place to live

Of course we have our share of the people dd constantly berates but hey they werent invited

like anywhere else in the world birds of a feather flock together. but dd and franky continue to ridicule the folk in a city you dont live as I for one am simply not listening.

I've heard of western countries charging contributions to social security by everybody to support the older generations. Isn't sin sod just something similar to that, just not charging the whole society?

I would say you are contributing towards your own future not someone elses, very different from sin sod

your contributions to social security aren't saved for you later but are used to support the elder generations from your payments. It's a generations contract; and from contributing to the support of the elder generation now you'll be given the right to ask for support from the younger generations when you'll get old.

its the same thing your paying into a system that pay you back in later life, not all who pay sin sod get anything back.

In fact some who pay sin sod and take care of the family end up in the morgue, as murdered, think i would rather pay social payments

And it should be clear to any reader "Korat girls" definitely doesn't mean we think they're all or most of them prostitutes. You cannot apply your western values to Thailand and judge everything by or twist its meaning to your set of values acquired back in Europe or the US.

seems to me like you have two topics intertwined Korat girls and red lights. However. I met the love of my life in Korat when working in Korat. She was a student of mine and,might I say I wouldnt want her thought of as anything other than an ordinary girl. Accepting that the
red light areas of thailand are full of Issan girls I would counter that the tens of thousands who stay in Korat are simply ordinary people.

Girls are beautiful all the world over. IMHO the best place to see Korat's hottest is the SaveOne night market. It's late enough that all the Uni students can go. Also shopgirls, factory girls etc. There are always flocks of beautiful, exotic Korat girls there.
